Making a Difference One Bag at a time.

Foster Care

When children enter the Foster care system, many bring little or no clothing/ possessions with them. Our closet at the Department of Family and Children's Services Building is accessible only to social workers. They are able to bring children with them into this happy space and allow them to choose a duffel bag, a bag of clothes (2 outfits, PJs, socks, underwear), a toiletry bag, a stuffed animal, a blanket, and other necessities. When the children cannot be present, the items are selected by their case worker.

Microwavable Lunch bags/ Busy Bags

IMG_0426-Edit.jpg

Each year we pack over 1,500 microwavable lunch bags and busy bags for CURE for Childhood Cancer and for pediatric hospital inpatients. Children receiving cancer treatments and other medical treatments at local hospitals are often unable to leave the hospital for meals. We provide bags containing microwavable meals and snacks to help make their stay a little easier. Bags are also provided for siblings. "Busy bags" contain crafts, toys, games, and letters of encouragement.
